How-to guides

Follow five tested guides from installing Mneme to agent and pull-request enforcement. Every recorded command and output is replayed in CI; steps that need your own setup are marked.

Recommended path

New to Mneme? Start by installing it and activating one protection. Then write enforceable ADRs, and add enforcement where your agents work and where changes merge. Steps 1 to 4 build on the same ADR-012 example, so you can follow them in order without resetting your project.

Already partway through? If your ADR is imported, jump to agent enforcement in step 2 or task-specific retrieval in step 3. If local checks already pass, go straight to the pull-request gate in step 4.

Related guides

Use these when you already have decisions in Mneme and need to activate a proposed guardrail or review a decision proposed by an agent.

Other kinds of docs

How-to guides assume you know what you want to do. To learn how Mneme decides, read how enforcement works and the decision model. To look up a flag or a tool, use the CLI reference and the MCP server reference. For a first run with nothing set up, start with the quickstart.
